You have experience with using the TR4W contest log ? I've been using it for a few years in the version 229. Because newer versions are available, I have updated to the latest version 479. However, there was a problem for which I reverted to the old version. The problem is to write the frequency to the Log, this is sometimes written sometimes not. I noticed that the frequency in the Log window flashes regularly, which it does not do in the old version, it doesn't even do a new version with another Trx . I use Trx Kenwood and the Microham interface. The old version of TR4W recognizes the interface for the TS850 in the new are already different Trx. Configuration attempts did not yield a correct frequency entry. They have ever encountered such a disorder ?

I use TCVR TS-930 with PIEXX and after the serial port via USB converter I go to the laptop. I have no problem with the latest TR4W version.

the problem could also be in setting up the language environment in Win.
every HAM should have ENG Windows.
this is the date format, decimal point, or period, … etc..
Experience has shown that some diaries cannot handle this, resp. even with a microHAM modem, there may be a problem with the correct recognition and assignment of the audio device if Win assigns a name to this device, where is the diacritics.

Hi, thank you for the posts I tried the configuration on another laptop computer with Win7 but the result is the same. Therefore, the frequency in the window flashes and the log does not write it irregularly. I also gave another converter the same result. The language environment was Slovak because this laptop is not intended for ama purpose I just tried. Anyway, I have no idea what I will use with the old version of the program 229 until he walks or I don't look at the evaluation of contests. The maximum of what happens will not pass the log if the frequency is mandatory, but the connections to the opposite stations apply, so everything is fine. There is some information on the subject of Kenwood communication on foreign forums, but it is only general without concrete results. 73!

I am collaborating on the development with N4AF, TR4W runs on Linux with Elecraft K3, absolutely no problems.
Using such an old version is a risk. If you can't do something in the new version, it is a good habit and an expression of decency for other users to report a bug. Saying nothing and going back to the old version is very incorrect behavior. realize, that you use software, for which you did not pay anything. Reporting an error is therefore the minimum, which you can do to develop the program. Of course, report the error at the designated location, so definitely not here.
Otherwise, look for the error in Slovak Windows.

Martin, OK1RRLet's not look for mysterious Windows complications there, where they are not. I had the same problem some time ago. You need to set the virtual COM ports in the file for the appropriate one “PRETEK.CFG” in TR4W and in the TR4W program menu Settings-> RIG settings, CAT a portu CW->RIG1 tak, so that they do not collide with each other. T.j. do not use the same COM port number for different two functions. The obvious thing is, that the serial baud rate on the radio and modem must be set the same, including the correct type of radio. The functionality of the communication between the TR4W software and the radio via modem can be verified via the appropriate modem software. If you use microKeyer, there is a CAT line under RADIO in the introductory window: with the appropriate port, followed by the text “open” with information of the set transmission serial speed and the number of transmitted bits and stop bits. When I press the SET box on the right, serial-level communication between the radio and modem opens. If the course of the communication report is smooth, is everything OK. If the statement jams, has time breaks, is a problem and the above needs to be addressed. CW fields: a PTT: have the same port number, but different from CAT: All other fields are None.

In my experience 90% disorder is on my side and 10% may be software. Even so, I was curious if anyone had such an experience, and I deliberately chose this forum just for localized Slovak Windows.. I can see from the answers that the mistake is on my side, as far as I can, I did what I know about port settings was the first thing I played with thank you Statutes for advice. I chose to return to the old version as the simplest solution at the moment because this situation arose from the plan to restore my hardware and the computer was not in the first place.. Until recently, I used classic Com and LPT ports, I switched to USB converters and these are also changes that must work, virtual ports are new features. Therefore, I will solve the new version with a new pc and then I can possibly consult the bugs on other forums. I didn't understand the information about the unpaid program, it's a matter for manufacturers and developers, the functionality of the program is perfect, sorry Martin.
