The October 8th stage of the SLP Competition 2004, which took place during the weekend of October 30 and 31, brought further interesting shifts in the overall standings among radio amateur listeners. The best participant of the stage was Jan Mandos (NL997) with an excellent score of 82,604 points, confirming his dominant position in the overall ranking of the competition. Alfredo Locatelli (CX-N020) finished second with 31,920 points, while Richard Frank (DH2URF-SWL) with 25,289 points. Among the Slovak participants, Jozef Marcincák (OM3‑0001) took the best place with 24,544 points, securing a strong position in the overall ranking.
The final results of the SLP Competition 2004, taking into account the best six stages of each participant, showed a clear winner - NL997 with a total score of 224,681 points, which clearly confirmed its quality and endurance throughout the season. OM3‑0001 finished second with a total of 73,041 points, and ONL3058 was third with 64,093 points. Other placements were also interesting to watch, with DH2URF-swl reaching 49,349 points and NL7403 46,360 points, confirming strong competition among European SWLs.
The 8th stage was not only an opportunity to get high point evaluations, but also to deepen technical experience and test antenna systems. The results of this stage significantly influenced the overall ranking and provided a clear picture of the active and competitive community of radio amateur listeners in 2004.
