Hello! I would like to ask: does anyone have a verified simple frame or vertical antenna for the 80m band? It would be quite useful for me because apartment conditions do not allow for anything else. Thank you.

Many people have verified it, and you can easily verify it too. It takes half an hour of work, and you need 20 meters of wire and a capacitor. You'll see for yourself how it works...

🙂 Do you think that's seriously everything? I read something about similar ones on the internet, but mostly they were larger than a football goal. I would need the smallest possible, so it won't be too small for 80m, but you definitely know what it's like to live in an apartment 👿

The larger the loop's content, the more effective it is. Since you can't have a 5×4 meter loop in an apartment, make it smaller and with more turns.

🙂 And do you happen to know how many turns specifically? Probably one for 5×4 m, and if it's smaller, then two to three.

The larger the circumference of the loop, the better. The length of the wire should be lambda/4. Give as many threads as you can see.

      And it actually works.
It has a problem that it is only for a very narrow band, about 20-50kHz, then you need to switch the branch again.
I successfully use a short antenna for 80m and 160m, 4.5m high on the corner of the railing.

It is powered by a transformer that can be easily made, but it requires a bit of patience; it is air-coupled, wound with commonly available wires.

The problem with the antenna is that it is powered by high voltage behind the transformer, and the nearby field tends to disrupt everything in range.
If you want, I'll send a photo and a simple description of the construction.

Hi. Your antenna has quite intrigued me. Please send me a photo of that antenna. We'll see what comes of it. 73 😛

      Just by the way:
Isn't any LW wire better than a bicycle wheel? You say you don't have conditions. Isn't it better to stretch a wire than to produce 'inconspicuous' RF loops whose effectiveness is debatable?

TO Anonymous: I want an antenna that can transmit without much adjustment, not an antenna that transmits and interferes 50 km around. You probably don't live in an apartment, so you don't know what that is. If you do, you must have very good caretakers. I had a 7m wire stretched at least for listening, and even that they took down, saying it interferes with the washing machine and the refrigerator doesn't turn off...

I live in an apartment, but I think the loop will look even worse. It is clear that it is dimensionally smaller, but the wire is less conspicuous, especially when it is cleverly stretched, tree, lighting, etc. possibly vertical on a small mast.
Alternatively, use the elevator shaft so that anyone can't get there. It can always be done, it just requires a little improvisation.
