The amateur radio family lost one of its most prominent personalities. On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 77, Ladislav "Láda" Prajsner OK2PAY left us forever.
Lada was not just a license holder; he was a DXman in body and soul, for whom radio was a window to the whole world. His departure leaves an empty spot on the bands where he was an integral part of the airwaves for decades.
A life dedicated to the waves
For many of us, Lada was a synonym for endurance and technical precision. His brand OK2PAY resonated in the ears of operators from Japan to South America. For him, DXing was not just about collecting rare connections in a log, but about real mastery - the ability to "pull" a weak signal out of interference and the infinite patience of waiting for the right promotion.
- Passionate operator: Láda belonged to the old school, which respected amateur radio ethics and gentlemanliness on the band.
- Mentor a priateľ: Vždy ochotný poradiť mladším kolegom alebo zdieľať skúsenosti z náročných DX expedícií a contestov.
- Techie: His hamshack was a place where the love of technology met with the joy of communication.
Honor to his memory!
