The world's largest radio amateur competition - CQ World Wide DX Contest (SSB) – took place during the last weekend of October 2025 and once again brought record participation and excellent conditions on the bands. Thanks to the high solar activity, the opening of the 10m and 15m bands and overall favorable propagation, thousands of stations from all over the world were on the air. Traditionally, they were also actively involved in the event Slovak and Czech stations, which were not lost compared to global competition.
Worldview: dominance of exotic locales
At the global level, stations from the Caribbean and South America once again topped the results, benefiting from exceptional conditions for DX connections. He became the absolute winner EF8R (E77Dx) from the Canary Islands with an impressive score 27,094,690 points, followed by HD8R (LU9ESD) from Galapagos and 8P5 a (W2SC) from Barbados. These stations confirm that a strategy combining high performance, an excellent location and an efficient team is still the key to success.
in the category Single-Op Low Power a ll B a nds the American triumphed N1UR with a profit of over 5.2 million points, while between stations low power (low power) dominated K1ZM with almost 2 million points - impressive result considering 5 W power.

CN3 a (Morocco) in Multi-Multi with a gain 58.2 million,
a CQ9 a (Madeira) dominated in Multi-Single High with a record 35.5 million points.
Slovak station OM7M did not get lost in this elite company - its performance 16,550,469 points ranked it at 7th place in the world In the top ten in the entire Multi-Single High category.
Slovak stations - solid performances and a strong community
In the preliminary results for 2025, there were over 50 Slovak call signs, which is comparable to previous years. The highest scores were achieved by traditionally strong teams and operators from OM.

Czech Republic - consistently strong country in the European rankings
Czech radio amateurs confirm their performance and wide representation in all categories every year. The best Czech result was achieved by the club OK5Z with a score of 11,848,252 points (Multi-Single High), closely followed by OK7O a OL3Z.

Comparison with the world
Although the best Slovak and Czech stations have a smaller advantage compared to tropical DX locations for geographical reasons, their results belong among the best in Central Europe.
OM7M (16.55 million) placed in the category Multi-Single High placed In 7th place in the world, right behind such teams as CQ9 a , v 47T or SJ2W.
OM2 v L (10.71 million) finished 4th place globally v a ssisted High a ll B a nds, just behind the winner ER4 a (UT5UDX).

From the newer competition categories that are designed to support various operating styles, Slovak stations appeared in several cases.

Trends of 2025: 10m and 15m come alive again
Thanks to increased solar flux (SFI around 180) were 10m and 15m bands open for most of the weekend. Many operators reported that 10m was 'like the old days' - full of signals from Africa, America, and Asia.
