Amateur radio, otherwise called HAM radio, is a type of radiocommunication service, used for self-education purposes, mutual communication and technical study of amateurs, who are entitled persons with an interest in radio engineering exclusively for personal interest and without financial benefit. It's a hobby, noble activity, which usually affects a person for lifet.

What does the word "mean"HAM”, so often used among amateur radio ? It's a simple shortcut, which consists of the first letters of the surnames of three American radio amateurs, members of the Harvard Radio Club, pp. Hymana, Almyho a Murraya, who used it a hundred years ago to identify their station on the air. This acronym became so domesticated, that when p. hyman v roku 1911 lobbies in US Congress for more ambitious US legislation on amateur broadcasting, almost all senators discussing this topic referred to the issue as HAMs, with amateur radio. Over time, the name has been adopted on a global scale and is still used today as an acronym for amateur radio..
