The world radio amateur community is once again preparing for one of the most prestigious competitive events - World Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) 2026, which will take place from 8 to 13 July 2026 in the United Kingdom. This championship, like the Olympic Games, moves to a new host country every four years. The goal of the WRTC is to provide radio amateurs from around the world with a level playing field, with each team using the same antennas, output power and other operating conditions.

🏆 Qualification and team selection
To qualify for WRTC 2026, entrants had to achieve outstanding results in a series of KV amateur radio competitions between October 2023 and March 2025. A total of 50 qualified teams, each consisting of two operators, will bring representatives from around the world to the UK. These operators will represent their home countries, similar to sports representatives at the Olympic Games.
Participants: OL5Y with OK6RA and OM2VL with OM3RM
Two teams from OK and OM are also among the qualified teams:
- EU #3 Team 1: OL5Y (Martin) and OK6RA (Václav)
- EU #9 Team 1: OM2VL (Laci) and OM3RM (Tibi)
These operators will compete for the title of best team at WRTC 2026, with each team assigned a referee to ensure compliance and fair competition.

WRTC 2026 will take place in the area known as East Anglia, specifically in the counties Suffolk, Norfolk a Cambridgeshire. 50 competing stations will be deployed in these areas, with a central headquarters strategically located to serve these locations. 🤝 Involvement of the public and volunteers
Organizačný výbor WRTC 2026 vyzýva rádioamatérov a nadšencov z celého sveta, aby sa zapojili ako dobrovoľníci. Potrebujú pomoc pri stavbe antén, nastavení stanov, generátorov, doprave, IT podpore a ďalších logistických úlohách. Dobrovoľníci dostanú oficiálne tričká, čiapky a ďalšie materiály ako poďakovanie za ich príspevok.
