On April 10, 1912, when the largest steamship in the world, the Titanic, belonging to the White Star Line company, set sail on its maiden voyage on the Southampton - New York route, with 2,227 people on board, no one knew that soon the name of this ship would be written forever as a symbol of the worst maritime tragedy in history. On the night of April 14-15, 1912, it hit an iceberg and about 1,500 passengers and crew members perished along with the ship.

On this occasion, as a memory, a memento, but also a reminder that the then developing telegraph service through two radio operators (Jack Philips and Harold Bride) saved the lives of more than 700 passengers, it will be, like every year, in the days On April 9 and 10, 2011, a special W0S brand was in operation, the station of which is located in the Titanic Museum in Branson, Missouri, USA.
The novelty of this year is that next to it, another occasional station will sound with the W4S call, from another Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge. The start of operation is announced for Saturday 08.00 UTC and the end for Sunday 16.00 UTC. The announced frequencies are: CW: 3.560, 7.060 and 14.060 (+/- 2 kHz), SSB: 3.860, 7.260 and 14.260 (+/- 3 kHz) (at 3.5 and 7 Mhz, for our REGON 1, operation in the given sections of the band is excluded and there are no frequency ranges allowed for fusion information). Connections will be confirmed with a very nice QSL card.
