Today at 11:10 CET, "Liftoff!" and Taurus XL went into orbit. Everything went smoothly until six minutes after the start, when launch director Omar Baez announced an unexpected event, with no further details on what actually happened. A little while later, word came that the final stage warhead fairing had not separated - and therefore was not possible CubeSats separate from the launch vehicle.
Further information will be known only after a detailed evaluation of the data at the press conference, approximately 2.5 hours after the start. There may be some small hope that the shroud separation has occurred after all, but that will be revealed very soon.
So the bad luck in the AmSat and CubeSat program continues… 🙁
