    Antenna rotator and elevator

      Hello,
In about a month, we plan to launch a stratospheric balloon at the University of Žilina, on which we also plan to transmit live images.
Since the wireless modules we plan to use have a power of only 100 mW, we want to use a parabolic antenna on the ground station that will track the balloon.
However, we have a problem with how to raise the parabolic antenna in elevation. We also looked at the Diseqc standard for rotating the parabolic antenna for satellite reception, but they cannot set the elevation.
I would like to ask you for guidance on whether there is a system that allows what I described, or if someone is using such a system and would be willing to lend it.

      Thank you for your help.

Hi zawin, I don't know if I can help you, but radio amateurs use antenna tracking in elevation for EME, that is, connections reflected off the moon.
for example, look at this http://www.ok2kkw.com/wsjt2006/23cm2008.htm Matej described it nicely, and in point 4. Position sensing, antenna rotation, and tracking software, there are also links to these rotators.
I would also be interested in what band you would like to use the parabolic antenna on, or whether it would be better to rotate it manually. Palo om3tix

Hi, thank you for the link.
It will be in the 2.4 GHz band.

Would anyone know how to borrow such a rotator and elevator for a scientific project?

      Thank you

I guess it will be difficult. Many people who have such a rotator have it installed. I would try to write to the sellers. There you have a greater chance, IMHO.
