Hello,
It can bend but not into sharp angles. Then it works like when you shorten the arm. So arrange it to achieve maximum right angles, preferably obtuse. You can also bend it transversely across the house, not just longitudinally. However, place the center at the edge of the roof, because the brace must be stretched straight; otherwise, it will start to 'tune' by itself (personal experience).
On the other hand, I don't dare to estimate what effect the roof will have, how far it will be from it, and what will happen when it starts to rain. You will have to experiment and tune and tune.
I have tried this in open space; the bends worked, but as soon as I bent it into a sharp angle, it became seriously out of tune, like when the arm is shortened.
Some description of other types of antennas is here http://expedicebilytesak.sweb.cz/Technology/anteny/maly-pozemek.htm
In any case, you put a bug in my head to try it. At my parents' house, my sister doesn't want to see any wire above the yard and garden, this way we would both be satisfied.
