It can bend but not into sharp angles. Then it works like when you shorten the arm. So arrange it to achieve maximum right angles, preferably obtuse. You can also bend it transversely across the house, not just longitudinally. However, place the center at the edge of the roof, because the brace must be stretched straight; otherwise, it will start to 'tune' by itself (personal experience).
on the other hand, I don't dare to estimate what effect the roof will have, how far it will be from it, and what will happen when it starts to rain. You will have to experiment and tune and tune.
I have tried this in open space; the bends worked, but as soon as I bent it into a sharp angle, it became seriously out of tune, like when the arm is shortened.

Correction so I don't get in the way. You can bend the ladder at most to a right angle. My problem was that it was parallel to the metal pipe and I attributed the misalignment to the bend. A friend has the ladder bent in the air and has no problem. (The peak was on a 9-meter pole in my case)

So you can move the center to the center of the roof or as it suits you to achieve better bending of the arms.
