Midway Island KH4 it is among the most desirable countries DXCC (24th worldwide, 13th in the EU). That is why the international team of operators chose it as the destination of the expedition. The team K4M will start operations on October 9 and will last for ten days, until October 19, 2009. It will be in operation five - six stations in the bands 160m - 6m.

Midway Island and ham radio

Broadcasts from Midway often take the form of expeditions that combine adventure and technical skill. Operators have to handle not only antenna systems and power settings, but also demanding climatic conditions. Connections from Midway Island are highly valued in the journals. For radio amateurs, it means successful QSO with Midway also prestige, proving the ability to overcome the distances and technical challenges of the Pacific Ocean.
