In order to be able to broadcast on the radio amateur bands, you must first successfully complete the tests organized by the Slovak Technical University. According to practice and proven knowledge, operators of amateur broadcast stations are divided into four classes - A, B, C, D. Only adepts for class D do not take a telegraphy exam, they have the opportunity to broadcast on bands from 144MHz to 276GHz with a power of 100W. "Céčkari" are also allowed a maximum power of 100W, but they can also work on four KV bands. "Béčkari" are also allowed a maximum power of 300W and all KV bands. "Ačkari", the highest class, have a maximum power of 750W allowed...

If you're interested in amateur radio broadcasting, let's take a look at what it takes to become a permit holder….
First of all, you must have at least an idea of what operation looks like on amateur radio bands, what possibilities each band offers you (QSO s okolitými stanicami, DX-ing, contesting, netradičné druhy prevádzky – napr.satelity, EME, microwave connections for several hundred meters)... It certainly does not make sense to invest time, effort and money in something that will stop entertaining you after a while.

But you may already be infected with the "ether bacillus" - and you cannot live without a radio. In that case, it is worth thinking about it and choosing the class that would suit you best. If you are not yet an active radio amateur, in that case you can only think about classes D and C, higher ones can be obtained only after making the required number of connections.
Registration for exams is done in writing, for example using this form REQUEST. After filling out and sending, there is a period when you have to start preparing for the tests on regulations, operation and technology. More detailed questions can be found on the website of the Slovak Technical University https://www.teleoff.gov.sk/urad/odbory-oddelenia/odbor-spravy-frequenzneho-spektra/skusky-osobitnej-odbornej-sposobilosti/amaterska-radiokomunikacna-sluzba/radioamaterskevysielanie along with answers to some questions. But I also recommend the book "Requirements for amateur radio station operator exams" by Ing. Jaroslav Kadlčák OK1BB and Ing. Miloš Prostecky OK1MP, which will help on the technical and operational side. In addition, it is possible to participate in a radio amateur course.
You will receive an invitation two weeks before the start of the exams. Exams are usually held in Bratislava, sometimes elsewhere (depending on the number of applicants and organizers).
I will also mention that it will cost you at least 500,-Sk, but rather 700,-Sk (if you successfully manage them and want to get a brand). Of course, applicants from outside Bratislava must also calculate the cost of transportation.
