New from ICOM: IC-7410

Like other companies, ICOM does not start and develop new product models. He recently released a novelty in the world: TRX marked IC 7410 (giant. 1) which would indicate that it is an improved model also in our OM of the very popular IC7400 and IC models 746. However, unlike them, it no longer contains a band 2 metre, it is therefore a purely short-wave device from 160 – 6 meters, of course, including WARC bands. In appearance, however, it is strikingly similar to the perfectly designed IC model 7600, which is the successor of the very successful trio IC756PRO (1-3), but at first glance you can see the difference in the display, which here is only black and white and the side functional buttons to the left of the display are missing.

But to the essentials and that is what is hidden inside: it is a superhet with double mixing (the first MF at 64.455MHz and the second at 36kHz) with the same DSP technology used by the models 7600 – 7800. The sensitivity is now standard 0.16μV na 160 – 10 m with a signal/noise ratio of 10db and the first preamplifier switched on, today, however, the greatest emphasis is placed on resistance to nearby strong signals, here the indicated resistance is more than 2.4kHz /-6dB, to less than 3.4kHz /-40dB. Performance of classics 100 W on all bands, TRX also includes an automatic tuner, however, what pleases me is the direct connection between the computer and the TRX via the USB interface. And yet another very pleasant news, and it is possible perfectly elaborated remote control called RS-BA1 IP rRCS (giant. 2), which will enable very simple and effective remote control of the TRX via the Internet. Considering the price, which is tentatively moving at dealers around 1700 eur, so it's a very promising model, the quality of which, of course, will only be verified by the hours spent in operation.
