Introduction: First, a few explanatory words for the younger amateur generation. About until In 1990, OK concessions were issued only from the holder's age of 18. Fortunately, there was an opportunity to apply for a special permit for youth (15 to 19 years of age) and with a bit of luck receive it, ie. get an assigned brand starting with OL with a three-letter suffix. The allowed bands were 160m (of course only CW), 2m and 70cm with power up to 10W. This had an indisputable advantage in that when they met on band 2 of the OL station, it was clear to both of them that the counterpart was someone their age with the same interests, and that made it easier to establish friendships. In order to remember the time when we had a lot of fun while broadcasting and meeting each other, we decided to organize an OL Party for all ex-OLs and other HAMs who have a positive attitude towards OL, TOP band or fun.
The purpose of the plant: We want to broadcast a little and find out which of the old acquaintances OL has which OK-OM brand and if he still doesn't resent the ether. Since the last similar event (results here), we have aged 7 years willy-nilly, some of the participants started to ask when there will be another round... It is not important to win, but to chat with acquaintances...
Date and time of the event
Saturday 11.9.2010 1900Z-2100 UTC i.e. 2100-2300 LČ (2 hours) FYI sunset 1910 LČ
Bands and types of traffic
Only CW 160m:
1850 – 1950 kHz (original band assigned to OL 1750-1950 kHz limited according to current regulations and recommendations)
80m:
3520-3560 kHz; for those who don't have a TOP band to enjoy the krapet as well... Non-binding recommendation: the first hour 160m, the second 80m (those who can't sleep).
Category
A: Former OL: Radio amateur stations of individuals who previously held a special radio amateur license for youth (OL). Performance like anyone (as in the past...). Participation in category A is not limited to stations OK and OM, on the contrary, ex-OL from any place on the globe are cordially invited.
B: Youth: Stations whose operators have not yet reached 19 years of age. Note: unfortunately, she did not participate in the last year. Are there no followers?
C: Other supporters
Transmitted code: Stations transmit a code composed of RST a pořadového čísla spojení bez ohledu na pásmo From čísla 99 SESTUPNĚ. Po dosažení 00 se pokračuje opět 99. (Uznáváme, že to komplikuje použití PC logu, ale ty nebyly v době OL také běžně používané. Zkuste zase papír a tužku, resp. klíčovat na pastičku či klofák!)
Category A stations also give their ex-OL brand.
Points
Connection = 1 point
Switching on the device (1x per race; for effort, for those who don't go anywhere - the so-called hardworking participant) 3 points
Sending a report (everyone can count, even those who don't have a device - the so-called sympathizing participant) 5 points
It also applies to connections with stations that do not race and do not transmit code - we do not force anyone to race!
Multipliers: Different OL brands in the accepted competition code, on each band separately. Own OL brand is also counted as a multiplier once per race.
Side note: You can get up to 8 points in total without doing a single one QSO. Which other race will offer you this! However, only category A participants in this case get one necessary multiplier needed for a non-zero result and will therefore be listed in the results list. The purpose is to at least let people know about themselves...
Reports and logs
The report from the plant must contain:
- Brand used
- Competition category
- For competitors of category A, the former OL brand
- For category B contestants, date of birth
- Number of QSOs on each band
- Number of points for turning on the TRX (if the person claims it; whoever makes the only QSO has these points automatically)
- The number of multipliers on each band separately (for category A without its own multiplier)
- Total result: total point sum for both bands plus additional points times total sum of multipliers for both bands
If you don't want to, you don't have to calculate the overall result (the evaluator will do so). There is no need to send the diary.
Send reports via packet radio and e-mail to Pavla OK1DX, packet OK1DX@OK0NAG.#BOH.CZE.EU, email ok1dx@amsat.org. These must be delivered within 31 days after the end of the race.
The race will be evaluated within 1 month from the deadline for sending journals. The results will be announced on this www page and on the Packet radio network.
Diplomas, medals, souvenirs: The absolute winner of the OL party and the winners of individual categories will receive a colored diploma (A4).
If there are sponsors, there is also the possibility of valuable prizes (the winner of the last round won a bottle of high-quality plum wine from Víti OK2ZV ex OL6BES, it also reached the others in the top places.) Potential sponsors should contact Pavel OK1DX.
All participants will receive via QSL service reminder QSL with marking of category and location. At the QSL there will be a conversion table between the current and ex OL marks of the participants, obtained from the reports received.
The result will be marked on the commemorative QSLs as follows: He placed in ... place from the END of the starting field in the category... After all, a person is more pleased to read how many stations he beat than how many were in front of him...
In conclusion: Dust the TOP band RIG, get the bugs out of it and re-stretch the piece of wire from the window, let us QRV as much as possible!
We ask former OLs to help spread this message to their peers.
