OM3RKP in the 3rd subregion
“Greetings to Lomnický štít!”, called after calling OM3RKP. However, the answer was not from Lomnický štít, but from the cottage under Solisko. Why?
This interesting elevation was popular with radio amateurs, Nevertheless, that the weather can prepare situations there, which we cannot even imagine a thousand or two thousand meters below. The new owner of the Tatra cable cars, a.s. however, he has intentions with the top station that are not suitable only for radio amateurs, but also other services, which have been in Lomničák for years. Despite the promise, during negotiations with the director of the company again, the preliminary agreement came to nothing… Time will tell what will happen in the future.
So we changed our plans at the last minute and on Saturday at 1 pm we just left Tatranská Lomnica in the rain. Due to work obligations - as is becoming a habit in OM3RKP - there are only two of us left. That's how it is with us, either there are eight of us or two of us. Well, take your pick.
The steady rain did not stop until the evening, but he was at least a little kind to us and sometimes weakened. As time was relentless, we built one 7el.DK7ZB on 2m and 4xDL7KM on 70cm and ran to the cottage. From the beginning (which was at half past seven our time) there were problems with the modulation and certainly also the splicing, SRI. As it turned out, the source does not tighten both TCVR and PA.
After rewiring to a second source it started to work, when a source with PA has terminated service. This resource is about five years old and it is the third time, what went wrong with the quota. It has been working at home for months and here? BDs will go out, the radiator will be replaced and we will put good old KDs in there.
However, the missing six decibels are missing and quite noticeably. He also helped with the longest connection of 869 km to I. The seventy-year-old was behaving strangely, a few stations behind 59+ and then no one.
Jano went to bed immediately after erecting the antennas - no wonder, when he was behind the wheel all night. And I followed him a little after midnight, HI.
In the morning, most stations were still engaged in telegraphy, there was more calm on SSB. I made a few more connections and then we wrapped it up. TNX to all for a pleasant time!
