Results of the SLP race after the 5th stage of 2004

The fifth stage of the VERON Short Listening Period Competition 2004 brought a shocking twist that redrew the map of the battle for overall victory! The May round of the competition threw the cards to the favorites and opened the door to unexpected challenges at the end of the season.

Dutch veteran Jan Mandos (NL-997) produced a masterful performance with an incredible 47002 points in stage five, catapulting him to the top of the standings with a total of 108743 points! This impressive result means that Slovakia's previous leader Jozef Marcincák (OM3-0001) dropped to second position with 44673 points, although he also scored a solid 16199 points.

But beware! Paul Lemeire (ONL-3058) remains dangerously close in third place with 17066 points and a loss of less than 2500 points to second means that the order is definitely undecided. The fourth position was taken by the Italian listener Gabriele Antonielle (I5-19906).

The surprise is the excellent performance of Brian King from New Zealand (ZL2001-SWL), who collected 3731 points and holds the ninth position despite the huge geographical distance. The remaining stages promise an exciting fight for the podium, where every point can decide the final triumph!
