The new year 2004 brought an exciting competition to the world of shortwave, in which listeners from different corners of Europe competed. SWL’s New Years contest opäť dokázal, že nadšenie pre krátkovlnných poslucháčov nepozná hranice. Do rebríčka sa zapísalo dvadsať účastníkov, ktorí počas contestového víkendu preukázali nielen technické zručnosti, ale aj vytrvalosť pri monitorovaní éterových vĺn.
The top ranks were occupied by experienced operators: the Italian Gabriele Antonielli (I5-1990) won with a score of 311 points, just ahead of the Dutchman Rob den Boer (NL-10018) with 310 points. The bronze position was won by Jean-Jacques Yerganian from the Netherlands (ONL-383) with 282 points. The Slovak representative Jozef Marcincák (OM3-0001) was also among the participants, who scored 238 points and took a valuable sixth place.
