Nordkapp - North Cape
Nordkapp, North Cape in Slovak, is one of the northernmost points of Europe and a symbol of arctic adventure. This majestic cliff rises 307 meters above the surface of the Arctic Ocean on the island of Magerøya in northern Norway, approximately 2,100 kilometers from the North Pole.

Although Nordkapp is not technically the northernmost point of the European continent – that title belongs to the neighboring Cape Knivskjellodden – it remains the most popular and visited Arctic destination. Its geographic location at 71°N places it well beyond the Arctic Circle. The very name "Northern Cape" was given to it by the English navigator Richard Chancellor in 1553 during his search for the northeastern sea route to Asia.
From mid-May to the end of July, you can experience the unique phenomenon of the polar day, when the sun never sets and stays above the horizon for a full 24 hours. On the contrary, in the winter months there is a polar night and the sun does not appear above the horizon at all. The weather is unpredictable and often harsh – strong winds, fog and cold temperatures are common even in summer.
On the plateau of the cape stands the modern Nordkapphallen visitor center with panoramic windows, a museum, a cinema hall and an ecumenical chapel. The tourist attraction is complemented by the famous globe statue, which has become an iconic photo spot.
