The goal of this competition for radio amateurs from all over the world is to establish as many connections as possible with as many radio amateurs from the US states, Canadian provinces and countries as possible in the 160m band. Note: each part of the competition now lasts 48 hours and their start is moved two hours later than in previous years. An operator in the single category can use 30 out of 48 hours.
Date and time: CW part: from January 25, 2003 00:00Z to January 26, 2003 23:59Z and SSB part: from February 22, 2003 00:00Z to February 23, 2003 23:59Z.

Classes: single- and multi-operator category only. The use of a packet, spots from the network or assistance will switch you between multi-op. In the multi-op category, they must indicate for each QSO and the operator. Signals are divided according to power into: H – power over 150W, L – power up to 150W and Q – power 5W and less. The result list will be divided by states or countries. If there is a higher participation in any category or the operator achieves a higher score, he will be rewarded with a diploma. The minimum score for obtaining a diploma is 5000 points for LP and 1000 points for QRP. In the multi-op category, there is no difference in performance, all participants are HP.
Exchanged: RS(T) and state (W) or province (VE), or prefix (others).
Scoring: for QSO with own country 2 points, with own continent 5, with another continent 10 points. Connections with /MM stations 5 points, but not counted as a multiplier.
Multipliers: every US state (49) except for KL7 and KH6 which are multiplier and DX, Canadian provinces (14) and land DX. DX countries are considered to be DX countries + WAE (IT, GM Shetlands, etc.). Canadian provinces include VO1, VO2, NB, NS, PEI, VE2, VE3, VE4, VE5, VE6, VE7, NWT, VY0 and Yukon. Do not count the USA and Canada as separate countries.
Overall result: you get by multiplying the points for connections and all multipliers.

Penalties: za neoveriteľné QSO Vám budú vymazané ešte tri ďalšie spojenia z logu.
Disqualification: je možná, ak sa prehrešíte proti rádioamatérskym predpisom, alebo vo Vašom logu bude nadmerne veľký počet neoveriteľných spojení.
Awards: diplomas will be awarded to the best in each category of each state, Canadian region and DX country. Even those who do not win, but their score will be more than 100,000 points can get awards. Sponsors presented plaques for exceptional results.
Diaries: send by e-mail at Cabrillo formáte. Pred odoslaním skontrolujte, či v riadku „subjekt“ každého logu je Vaša značka a mód. Denník neposielajte ako text, ale najlepšie ako komprimovanú ZIP prílohu e-mailu. Súbor pomenujte: „CQ-160-CW skóre“ (ak chcete byť v zozname udávaných výsledkov). Akceptuje sa aj zaslanie diskety a tlačenej prvej strany logu, prípadne aj papierový log (nad 200 QSO je potrebné pripojiť zoznam dupe/check). Formulár logu je tu: https://www.cq.sk/img/cqww160.pdf.
Club competition: je organizovaná pre zábavu. Ak vyhodnocavateľ dostane minimálne tri logy From členov jedného klubu (je nutné jasne vyznačiť), tak sa ich klub môže zúčastniť aj tejto súťaže.
Deadline for sending logs: for the CW part by February 28, 2003 at the latest, for the SSB part by March 31, 2003. Exception: you can send both journals at the same time if the CW journal arrives before March 31, 2003. Send the paper and diskette journals earlier and by registered mail. Use as return postage SAX or UAE + IRC.
