Lyridy 2005

Lyrids are not among the most sought-after meteorites of MS amateurs, because the reflections from their tracks are relatively short and weak, but they are sufficient for WSJT operation. Their speed is moving around 49 km/s. Odhadovaný počet odrazov za hodinu je do dvadsať. But maybe they will surprise us like in a year 1982, when in the US they counted about 90 reflections per hour.

Podľa predikcií, ktoré sa však výrazne rôznia, by mali byť aktívne from 16. do 25.apríla s maximom 22.apríla 2005. IMO predpokladá maximum medzi 2.30 to 13.30 OUT, podľa iných zdrojov však môžeme očakávať ostré maximu už o 1.34 OUT.

The maximum width is variable, from 14,8 hours of the year 1993 after 61,7 hours of the year 2000, with a mean value of about 32 hours.

The best times for JZ-SV connections 03-06 OUT, in the V-Z direction 04-09 UT a JV-SZ 07-09, in the S-J direction, the Lyrides are unsuitable for connections.
