Several were, or are famous DX-men, competitors and representatives of the country in radio amateur disciplines, in the past also holders of the highest sports titles. Many have participated in the past, or still participate in the construction, or professional publishing activity.
This year marks the club's twentieth anniversary. The club was founded 18. November 1995 in the Baník hotel at Štrbský Pleso in the High Tatras. Under the club call sign OM9OT and the special occasional call sign OM20OTC, club members broadcast from many interesting and desirable locations in Slovakia with the aim of enabling Slovak and foreign radio amateurs to obtain popular OTC diplomas, as well as SZR diplomas.
