POWER MANAGEMENT CHALLENGE OK1RP – 2005
Rules - make as many connections as possible during the IARU Region 1 Field Day CW using AA size batteries > once they run out the race is over for you!!!
The number of batteries is limited to 10 pcs for a 12 V device, 8 pcs for a device with a voltage of 9.6 V, etc. Batteries may not be changed during the race; if you use different devices for each band, you only have one battery to change in the device! Any batteries can be used, including accumulators > but they must not be recharged during the race!

Date: CW - first full weekend in June
Time: CW - Saturday 15:00 UTC to Sunday 15:00 UTC
Bands: 160 m – 10 m (excl WARC)
Type of operation: CW – June
Categories:
- PMC portable – The location must not be changed during the race, it must be at least 100 m away from inhabited buildings.
- PMC fixed – The position may not be changed during the race.
In both categories, only one signal on one band (like SOAB).
Battery power in both categories is limited – the number of batteries is limited to 10 pcs for a 12 V device, 8 pcs for a device with a voltage of 9.6 V, etc. The technology of the cells used is arbitrary, but they must not be changed or recharged during the race.
Code: RST + connection serial number starting from 001

Scoring:
- QSO with a permanent European station 2 points
- QSO with non-European station 3 points
- QSO with station from transient QTH 4 points in Europe
- QSO outside Europe 6 points
Multipliers: Countries DXCC and WAE, on each band separately.
Overall result: The sum of the points for the connections is multiplied by the sum of the multipliers.
Diaries: Within ten days after the race to the address OK1RP or e-mail indians@seznam.cz. Logs must include category, number of QSOs, number of multipliers, devices used, antennas and source technology used (NiMH, NiCd, etc.).
Prices: The first three stations with the best result will receive the following material prizes > a new hand telegraph key of the CS.armada in original design, a NiMH/NiCd AA cell charger and a holder for 10 AA cells.
Note: The ranking will be published in the Czech AMA periodicals and sent to the IARU Field Day evaluator.
