Introducing: Icom IC-7800
The world-famous manufacturer TRCV Icom presented at the largest meeting in the USA – Dayton's new product, which he wants to strengthen his position on the market and supply to all radio amateurs, who, of course, have their dream HF transceiver with everything such a machine should contain.
Icom has always been revolutionary and was the first to bring transistor technology to the market, digital PLL or DSP, which was unprecedented. So we can't be that surprised, when we see IC-7800, which should exceed everyone's expectations. Among its basic characteristics, I can perhaps mention the excellent 32-bit DSP, two complete independent receivers, color TFT display, built-in RTTY/PSK31 decoder and even a slot for Compact Flash cards! So dreams become reality:

- Controls 32-bit DSP units – and that completely independently! One for the final stage (transmitter), one for each recipient (2!), and the last one for the scope spectrum.
- +40dBm ultra high interception point – this corresponds to the best military radios, so-called. 3rd order pre ultra siroku dynamicku oblast, very difficult to receive very weak signals.
- Two complete independent receivers – it means, that we actually have 2 reception in one “skatuli”, both are of the same quality, they have independent inputs, control, antenna connectors… Simply beautiful!

- At 200W, we also need a quality source, Of course, the IC-7800 has it built in.
- Very high frequency stability – IC-7800 has plus-minus 0.05ppm as a standard!

- Multi-funkcny spectrum scope – with a built-in DSP unit, this spectrum scope is highly linear and accurate!
- RTTY/PSK31 without computer? Year, that is also possible here! Just connect a USB keyboard and you have everything you need. You can record individual connections on a CF card, whose necessary slot you will find already built into this TRCV.
- Professional 6m receiver – this receiver did not depend on the preamplifier and the mixer on the 6m band, which differs from the previous combined HF/6m TRCV. Anyone interested in this breed will definitely appreciate its qualities!
I could write a lot more about the Icom IC-7800. It is / it will be really excellent “machine” for which Icom really does not have to be ashamed.
Perhaps the only flaw is the price for the seed. She moved above me from the beginning 4000 USD, which is really not small. So the question is: “Dare to invest in this beauty?”. My answer is, so only for those, who are proud to be radio amateurs and are interested in HF and 6m: “Year!”.
