Today I received a nice email from Alex - OM6SA, at the end of which he attached a file with two articles for our portal. So today I am happy to publish his first article and thus his debut on this portal. Along with his post, I'm also opening a new topic - QRP , in which we will include everything related to QRP. Oliver wishes you a pleasant reading M3SDO. So let's get down to it:
Slovak domestic constructors and QRP "specialists" are waking up from their winter sleep. We can observe this phenomenon all over the world. Major manufacturers have launched new QRP devices and builders have launched new RXs and TCVRs. Modern miniature parts are used more and more in structures. However, the old parts still work great and we don't need a magnifying glass when building with them. HI. So nothing new under the sun.

Thanks to the English G-QRP-Club, we managed to get several construction sites of the excellent NORCAL 20 transceiver at 14 MHz to Slovakia. Its quality is equal to factory equipment, which costs at least 50,000 Sk.
The first NORCAL 20 was built by Saňo, OM3TY, the world master of QRP designs, who not only made it, but also improved it in the spirit of radio amateurs, so the development continues. That's the beauty and excitement of home construction. NORCAL is a product of the Radio Club of Northern California (NORth CALifornia). The latest "bomb" he made is the TCVR DOB 80. You will see and try everything at the QRP meeting on May 24 in Vrútki.
Other NORCALs are being built in radio amateur corners Mira OM1RA and Laca OM7EW. Dušan OM6IX works on 3.5 MHz TCVRi HIGHBRIDGE from Walford Electronics. I have two projects under construction for a year, but I lack time to complete them. I have to admit that I have 5 projects under construction, but they have been sitting at the back of the shelf for six years. I'm sure many of you time-strapped enthusiasts are in a similar situation. HI.
Our projects are so small that they easily get lost at the back of the shelf and when they get covered in dust, they are hard to recognize. HI. Such a 500 W terminal is already clearly visible on the shelf, and that is why they are ours QRO enthusiasts probably more successful. HI.

In addition to taking care of children and family, Igor OM3CUG has already done 100 countries on the 3.5 MHz band with 3 watts and is currently testing an isotronic antenna on 14 MHz and an EH antenna on 21 MHz. Rado, OM2ZZ, in addition to preparations for VHF racing, he sharpened his eyes and made a small TX KnightsMite, a code name for the famous TX Pixie, but made with miniature circuit components.
As the boys see it. I just take a deep breath and all the miniature flat parts on my table move to the other end, and I can't do it without a proper magnifying glass. However, it is an amazing technique and once a person gets the hang of it, it works.
"Tulák" Jirko OK2MJ has in the OM3KFV club at the back of the shelf a disassembled two-tube battery-powered TCVR for the 3.5 MHz band, originally intended for field operation in the SNP race. The next time Jirko appears, we'll probably have to tie him to the table to finish it. HI.
We have no news about other domestic constructors, their development activity is strictly confidential or they do not have time to speak. Let us know what you do, even if it doesn't work. Someone will help you bring it to life.
The meeting of domestic constructors and QRPák will be held in Vrútki on Saturday, May 24, 2003 at 09.00 in the morning in the cinema May 1. It's about a 10-minute walk from the station to the left. Bring your small and big "miracles" to the construction competition. It can be RX, TX, TCVR, antenna tuners, keyers, measuring equipment or other accessories.
If you want to give your lecture or need additional information, please register in advance with Viktor Chila, OM6ACV, tel: 043 4224252. Dušan Jurčacko, OM6IX, tel: 043 4286364. If you are lucky, you can catch me on tel: 0908 266451.
May your summer boots keep you warm and see you in Vrútki in May.
