TATRY 2014

The Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs organizes 40. year of the meeting of TATRA radio amateurs 2014. The meeting will take place 21.-23. November 2014 at the Satel Hotel in Poprad.

This year we also managed to provide an interesting professional program for the participants of the meeting. Fero OK1NOF and Tono OM3LU prepared presentations of two antenna analyzers, the first one is called Trinus and works from 1 do 180 MHz and the second PIKO-VNA from 1 do 30 MHz and it works independently even without a connected PC. You will be able to see both analyzers “live”. After that, Tono OM3LU will give another lecture about multiband KV antenna. A public meeting of the coordination center will also take place on Saturday morning ARES. In the afternoon we prepared first SOTA forum led by Dan OM1DK, which will introduce the latest changes and additions to the SOTA program and highlight the effort, which they had to spend together with the son of OM1DI. After a one-year break, it will be again VHF forum, where we will inform about the news approved at this year's IARU conference. And finally, the best. O SDR and its influence on the current development of the radio amateur market will be discussed by Pavel OK7PM. Who were you at his lecture in 2012 or you read his articles in Rádiožurnál, you know, that we have something to look forward to.

The meeting will also include a sales part, where companies will offer a range of radio amateurs. The company Anico will come from Slovakia, which is known for its favorable prices of radio amateur equipment. The official representative of Kenwood in Slovakia will also come – VH electronics and z OK traditional exhibitor – firma HCS, importer of ICOM equipment. In addition, there will also be smaller exhibitors and stockbrokers. Of course, the Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs will have a separate stand, in which the QSL service will work, it will be possible to pay the membership fee for next year, subscription to Rádiožurnál, buy a collection.

SZSL service announces SZR, that he will bring QSL tickets for all district or club managers to the meeting in Poprad, and for those individuals, who signed up for the meeting. In addition, QSL will bring tickets to everyone, who request it by e-mail to qsl@szr.sk, via the QSL service page at www.hamradio.sk, or by phone 0903 860235 (OM3JW) or 0902 710133 (OM3MB). The deadline is 18.11.2014. Of course, at the meeting you will also be able to hand over your QSL tickets to the QSL service.

On the occasion of the meeting, a collection of lectures will be published on DVD. In the collection, prepared by Tono OM3LU and Roman OM3EI, you will find these articles: Description of two antenna analyzers – TRINUS of 1 do 180 MHz to PIKO-VNA od 1 do 30 MHz, a description of the W5DXP multiband antenna and an extensive article on resonant wire antennas. As usual, The DVD also contains a bonus part, in which you will find manuals for practically all transceivers from ICOM companies, Yaesu a Kenwood, as well as a large set of engagements designed for youth.

DVD TATRY 2014 you will be able to purchase in the exhibition hall at the SZR stand for 4,00 €. A limited number of collections from previous years will also be available.

Exhibition "Wireless World – "Wireless World" is moving to the Satel Hotel in Poprad after a successful presentation in the Avion shopping center in Bratislava, where it will be part of our TATRA meeting 2014. The exhibition takes place on occasion 150. anniversary of the birth of Jozef Murgaš, pioneer of wireless telegraphy. It aims to show the history of wireless telegraphy and radio in an international context, their development since the first half 19. century and at the same time introduce the pioneers, such as recognized scientists and researchers: Faraday, Maxwell, Hertz, Branly, Lodge, Popov, Tesla, Marconi, Murgas, or Fessenden. The exhibition is organized by the Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Slovak Republic, Club of Jozef Murgaš and Jozef Gregor Tajovský. The partner of the exhibition is the Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs.

The special occasion station OM40TATRY will broadcast from the venue of the meeting, reminiscent of, that it is a jubilee 40. year of the meeting. The station will be installed in the exhibition hall of the SATEL hotel, and radio amateurs present will be able to broadcast from it. The station will call for the first time on Thursday 20.11. O 16,00 CUT on 3768 kHz, when the regular Thursday news of the Slovak Association of Radio Amateurs will be broadcast. After the messages, it will be possible to establish a connection with the station. OM40TATRY will be in operation until Saturday 22.11. about to 15,00. QSL tickets will be handled by OM2FY.
