Ten-Tec ORION VII
The legendary ORION series will soon have a successor. Ten-Tec announced in October 2006 ORION with serial number VII. This TCVR will be the first purebred network controllable device. It means, that you will be able to work with the device from any place on Earth with a broadband Internet connection. ORION VII has a built-in Ethernet port with a router for this purpose.
ORION VII will be able to work in bands 160 – 6m so 100W. Of course, there will be two roofing filters 34 DSP filter settings. Collins electromechanical filters for both SSB and CW will be available as optional accessories.
Like many devices today, the ORION VII will also have a large, high-resolution color display 320 x 240 pixels. In addition to a number of digital functions, the built-in tuner will definitely please you. An identical tuner is built into the ORION II. The device will have three antenna connectors, one just for the RX antenna. As is customary at Ten-Tec, even ORION VII can be improved on the software side with upgrades from the Internet.
The dimensions of the ORION VII are 5 x 12 x 14,75 inches (127 x 305 x 375 mm) at a weight of approx 7 kg. The price of the device will be set somewhere between the prices of the JUPITER and ORION II models (50 – 120 thousand crowns).
