The fourth stage of the SLP Competition 2013, which took place during the weekend of May 4-5, once again confirmed the dynamism and unpredictability of this traditional international SWL competitions. After three rounds, in which the two main favorites – Vladimir and Jan – dominated, the fourth stage brought new surprises and interesting shifts in the overall ranking.
Jan attracted the most attention this time, who scored up to 58,951 points in this stage and clearly won. His performance means not only a dominant position within the round itself, but also a significant strengthening of his claims to the overall title of SLP 2013. Jan thus confirmed that after the initial failure to start in the first stage, he is fully back in the game and with each round he is able to reduce the point gap from his rivals - which at this stage has already translated into his leading position in the running order.
The second best performance was performed by the defender of the interim lead, Vladimir, who scored 25,047 points. Although he fell behind Jan more significantly than in the previous stages, he still maintained a very strong position and remains the most serious candidate for the overall triumph. His consistency throughout the season is an example of long-term stable form.
The third place belonged to Sjuk, who scored 8,418 points, thus consolidating the course of the season in its middle part. Stable results were also confirmed by other participants - Jozef, Sergej, Johan and Marc - who also strengthened their position in the overall ranking in the fourth round.
The interim evaluation after four stages brings an interesting change at the head. With a total of 189,881 points, Jan takes first place and takes the lead from Vladimir, who is currently in second place with a total of 172,918 points. Third place is held by Sjuk with a total of 52,190 points. However, the middle field of the competition is extremely balanced, which guarantees a dramatic development in the next rounds of the season as well.
