Results of the 4th stage of the SLP 2015

The fourth stage of the SLP 2015 competition took place on 9-10 in May and brought interesting shifts in the ranking among shortwave listeners (SWL).

The fourth stage itself was dominated by Sjuk Veenstra (NL6904), who scored 8,211 points and surprised by provisionally getting ahead of the previous leader, Konstantin Vakhonin (RU4SS), who scored 8,127 points. Third place was taken by Marc Stinkens (ONL4638) with 4,959 points, followed by Johan Heus (NL9723) with 4,806 points and Jozef Marcincák (OM3-0001) with 4,524 points. Eugene Syromjtnikov (UR3QTN, 3,910 points), Igor Krinetsky (USF-007, 2,407 points), Kees Schout (NL294, 2,013 points), Alex Gorbunov (US-Q-73, 1,540 points) and Helmut Grund (DE2HUG, 1,200 points) also appeared in the top ten.

In the interim evaluation of the competition after four rounds, RU4SS maintained the leading position with a total of 78,131 points. OM3-0001 is still in second place with 68,551 points, while NL6904 moved up to third place with 47,468 points thanks to its excellent performance in the fourth stage. It is also interesting to observe the stable results of PA1555, who has missed the fourth stage so far, but still holds the fourth place with 34,606 points.

There was some diversity among other participants: some stations, such as UR3QTN or USF-007, improved their scores, while others, such as 9A4KJ and NL13662, did not participate and their interim scores remained unchanged.

The fourth stage confirmed once again that the SLP competition is not only about getting as many points as possible, but also about the ability to maintain a stable performance over several rounds. The following stages will be decisive for the final position in the overall standings, where we expect the leading stations to maintain their positions, while minor shifts may bring surprises.
