For the organizers
Thank you for the high-quality participation in the anniversary year (fifth OL Party, 50 years since the first OL license was issued). As can be seen in the results sheet, quite a decent number of connections can be made. On the other hand, it is also necessary to listen really well - not all of them produce strong signals, so the performance of your own transmitter and a high-quality antenna alone do not guarantee the result. Stations that did not hesitate to start with QRP or with an antenna - a piece of wire from a window, or from remote locations, they deserve recognition for their participation, even if it was clear to them in advance that they had no chance of placing. But it is they who make the race attractive, and not just a "buzzer discipline" where all the signals are 599.
Unfortunately, many struggle (mostly in vain) at home with various sources of distraction, which is a major handicap – and also one of the diseases that continues to spread and that most of us have to contend with. QTH without QRM today is a godsend, unfortunately. We hope that the person who was looking for old friends found at least some of them on the band and that they managed to exchange some kind words in addition to the report during the connection. The statistics showed that a total of 96 former OL operators have participated in this event so far.
So - will they be heard at OL Party 2014?!
