The team 3YØK remains committed to activating Bouvet Island in 2026. Our project is ongoing and on schedule, with departure scheduled for 1 February 2026 from Cape Town.
The team has a written contract that specifies how the funding shortfall is to be covered. Several members did not honor this agreement by refusing to pay their share of contractual obligations for several months, exposing the team to great financial risk, lack of funds and the possibility of cancellation of this and future DXpeditions. With a total budget of .7 million, of which the team had already spent .1 million, the team faced serious financial and contractual consequences for their actions. Almost all of our equipment, such as radios and amplifiers, is generously loaned from our sponsors and although antenna range is important, it is a small item in the overall budget.
To protect the interests of all involved, current team members contributed an additional 0,000 of their own funds to ensure the financial success of the DXpedition. The courage and determination of the current team is reflected in this additional contribution as we focus on preventing financial loss for all involved due to breach of contract by former members.

Pokračujeme v pláne zriadiť a prevádzkovať dva samostatné tábory na Bouvete, pričom jeden tábor sa bude zameriavať na Severnú Ameriku. Miesto táborov bude určené podľa miestnych podmienok po príchode, s dôrazom na to, že bezpečnosť musí byť vždy na prvom mieste.
The leadership group has interviewed 4 doctors who are interested in supporting the DXpedition and the team doctor will be announced in due course.
