Propositions of the Winter QRP race at VKV
These propositions are valid from January 1, 2011 for the Winter QRP race at VKV. ČAV – Czech-Moravian amateur broadcasters announce the Winter QRP competition on VKV. The race is always held on the Sunday of the first full weekend in February and is open to competitors from all countries - it is an international race.
Competitive bands
-
432 MHz: 09:00–11:00 UTC
-
144 MHz: 11:00-13:00 UTC
Types of operation
CW and phone according to the permit, while it is necessary to follow the recommendations of the First Region IARU for various types of operation in frequency sections of amateur radio bands.

Additional conditions
-
QTH is arbitrary, there can be an electric current on the dimension.
-
All station equipment must be located on an area with a maximum diameter of 500 m. The position may not be changed during the race.
-
The use of a remote receiver or transmitter is not allowed.
-
Each station can only have one signal at a time (signals needed for packet radio are not counted).
-
Several stations can broadcast from one station according to the agreement.
-
The power of the final stage of the transmitter or the sum of the powers must not exceed 10 W.
-
Powering all devices (TCVR, rotator, bug, PC...) only from chemical sources; recharging during the race is only possible from solar cells, Peltier cells or human-powered mechanical sources.
-
Antennas can be erected no earlier than the Friday before the race.
-
Connections EME, cross-band and via ground or space transmitters are not counted.
-
Only one valid connection with the complete competition code is counted on each band; repeated connections must be marked (RPT, DUPE) in the diary and have a value of 0 points.
-
Použitie DX Clusteru, chatu, mobilu a podobne nie je obmedzené.

Competition code
It consists of RS or RST, sequence number of the connection and WW-locator. The sequence number on each band must start with the number 001. The complete code is also sold by non-competing stations. Three zeros - 000 - are not valid and the connection will be evaluated as invalid. Stations that do not wish to be rated need not send a log.
Scoring
1 point is counted for each kilometer of distance covered. The point value of the connection is given as an integer. 1 point is counted for a connection in the same WW-locator. To convert degrees to kilometers, a coefficient of 111.2 is used, taking into account the curvature of the Earth. The WGS-84 system is used to determine site coordinates. Connections with non-competition stations are also valid, but they must sell the complete competition code.
Evaluation
Each band is evaluated separately, as well as the total sum of points from both bands. Single and multi stations are evaluated together. The first three stations in each band and in the overall order will receive a diploma.
Competition diary
It can be electronic or paper. The electronic diary must be in the EDI format (REG1TEST), designated as the standard for the evaluation of plants in Region I of the IARU. The diary in another format will not be accepted.
A paper diary is enough, a legible photocopy with recorded points. It can also be emailed as a scanned document. The diary must be sent to the evaluator no later than the 10th day after the end of the race.
The connection is invalid if
-
Contains an error in the code, tag, connection sequence number or locator.
-
The connection time difference is greater than 10 minutes from UTC.
The station will not be rated
-
For non-compliance with competition or permit conditions.
-
For false or erroneous data in the diary.
-
For unsportsmanlike behavior in the race.
