Jamboree On The Air
Dear friends,
in days 18.-19.10.2003 will take place already 46. year of the international scout event Jamboree On The Air (WHOM), which is attended by over half a million scouts from all over the world every year. In principle, this is a classic jamboree, whose task is to unite Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, peoples and cultures and to allow mutual exchange of scouting ideas, cultural, geographical and other knowledge and findings. It's an effort, for anyone to agree with anyone, using world languages, which not only young people are learning in droves these days. It is therefore an entertaining and educational event with significance for the whole world. Regardless of race, sex, religion and political affiliation unites Boy Scouts around the world.
Amateur radio is used as a means of communication here. It practically looks like this, that the scouts visit the radio amateur at home or he comes to them in the clubhouse. He will show them work on the band and have them broadcast under his supervision and brand + /J (allowed by the CTU). All types of traffic can be transmitted on all bands according to the class of the supervising operator (max. C). JOTA runs from Saturday 00:01 days after the race only in electronic form 23:59 local time, on Saturday is from 14:00 throw. in the 2m band a meeting of Czech JOTA stations.
I hereby cordially invite you to the event and wish you the best of luck in making connections.
I will be happy to provide you with any further information personally, But now it is a typical expeditionary activity. you can find them at http://www.scout.org/jota (Invitation and race conditions) or http://www.rosomaci.org/jota (Czech). Thanks in advance for your understanding and cooperation.
Sincerely, a 73!
