Russia on the globe One significant change is that not all Russian prefixes with the number 2 are from Kaliningrad. It will be only stations RA2 and UA2-UI2, whose first letter in the suffix is F or K. Other stations with the number 2 are located in the European part of Russia
- Stations with the following prefixes are from the European part of Russia: R1, RA1-RZ1 (with the exception of RI1), R2, RB2-RZ2, R3-R7, RA3-RZ7, UA1 and UA3-UI7. Also the prefixes R8, R9, RA8-RZ9 and UA8-UI9 (with F, S, T, W or X in the first place in the suffix) are from this area
- With the exception of the above, all stations numbered 8, 9 and 0 are located in the Asian part of Russia
- Russian Antarctic stations will be assigned temporary tags in the series RI1ANA - RI1ANZ and RI00ANT to RI99ANT
- Stations operating from František Jozef Land will use the temporary call signs RI1F, RI1FJ and RI1FJA-RI1FJZ
- Stations operating from Maly Vysotskiy Island will have temporary call signs RI1M, RI1MV and RI1MVA – RI1MVZ
