Community QRP contest (QRPCC) pozýva všetkých nadšencov QRP prevádzky na ďalšie kolo Originálneho QRP Contestu.
Already before the last round (December 2007) I placed an invitation on this page. Since I think this is a very interesting activity and that there is never enough promotion, I am giving the invitation here again.
The main purpose of this activity is to support creative and unconventional radio amateur activities, such as home-brewing, or simply broadcasting on a different than the usual "luxury" transceiver.
This activity, in contrast to other races, has more the character of a meeting in zones. Scorecards show that many operators will only participate for an hour or two with a single-band, home-built rig, with no attempt at a high score or even a win.
However, anyone who would like to show that even a QRP operator can be a passionate competitor is also welcome.

Race conditions
Date and time:
July 5-6, 2008 (first weekend in July), Saturday 3:00 PM - Sunday 3:00 PM UTC.
The minimum rest period is 9 hours. It can be divided into two parts. You can take more breaks, but the two longest ones must be at least 9 hours long.
Participants:
All operators with genuine QRP equipment, whether commercially produced or home-made, including those capable of transmitting at more than 5 W (which is the generally accepted limit for QRP power), e.g. IC-703, SG 2020, FT-7, K2 and similar.
This also includes industrially produced QRP versions QRO transceivers such as TS-130V, FT-707S and others.
Station operators with QRO equipment (>20 W) who reduce power to QRP level should also submit a log, but will be classified as checklog.
Bands and frequencies:
CW sections of bands 80 m, 40 m and 20 m.
Challenge:
CQ OQRP

Categories:
Single CW operator only. It is possible to use several different devices sequentially, but only one at a time.
- VLP: (1 W out or 2 W in)
- QRP: (5 W out or 10 W in)
- MP: (20 W out or 40 W in)
- QRO category does not exist.
Sending code:
RST + connection number + category
e.g. 599 001 VLP
Scoring
The evaluator will count 4 points for connecting with another racing station, whose log will be available to him.
Other connections count for 1 point.
WARNING! New from the 23rd round: HANDMADE BONUS
To support the creative spirit of QRP amateurs, the use of equipment that the operator has made with his own hands will be rewarded with a bonus:
- 15% points if it is a TX or TRX assembled from a kit,
- 30% points if it is an original device of own construction.
These "handmade bonus points" can be used, for example, only for one band, while the participant used a commercially manufactured device for the others.
Multipliers:
The evaluator counts 2 multiplier points for each DXCC country (+ IT9) for connecting with another racing station whose log will be available to him.
Otherwise, each DXCC country counts for 1 multiplier point.
Overall result:
The sum of points for connections multiplied by the number of points for multipliers.
The evaluator calculates the result. Don't try to count it yourself - you can't know who will or won't send a log for evaluation.
It follows that every diary is welcome and expected - even just 3 QSO on a postcard.

Diaries
A special form is created for paper diaries.
In any case, the title page of the diary must contain your name, address, call sign and marked rest period.
In the case of a paper diary, the individual bands must be separated.
List all equipment used in the race, including their power (or input). Brief description for domestic devices.
Don't forget to ask for bonus points for homemade equipment.
Logs must be sent no later than July 31, 2008 to the address:
dr. Hartmut Weber, DJ7ST, Schlesierweg 13, D-38228 SALZGITTER, Germany.
Send diaries in electronic form by e-mail to the address:
oqrpc(at)qrpcc.de
Journal format: Cabrillo or STF (simple text file).
A program is recommended to convert a paper journal to a computer file LM (from DL8WAA) for Windows.
Your call sign must be included in the email subject, for example:
„23rd OQRP log by OM9XYZ“.

Invitation for beginning telegraphers
I know of several amateurs who, after obtaining a license (today, at a time when the telegraphy exam is no longer mandatory), began to learn Morse code. I'm not really making this up. There are not many of them, but they exist. I even know of two who started learning it "on old knees", although they have had the concession for many years.
But they still don't have the courage to appear on the band. They are mostly afraid that the opposing station will "fly out" at them too quickly, will ask something, they will not catch it and it will be a shame.
I think an activity like this (OQRPC) is the perfect opportunity to try it. This is a race, so the code being uploaded is fairly short. Most operators do not transmit at breakneck speeds. Moreover, because they are aware that they have little power, they often repeat the code multiple times. Also, it's not a problem "from behind the bush" to listen to what the station was transmitting on the previous connection and deduce from that what it will give you (just the QSO number will be one higher, maybe a different RST).
Another advantage is that the race lasts 24 hours. After such a beginner is completely mentally (and physically) exhausted after the third QSO - and I'm not exaggerating, stage fright and nervousness can destroy a person very quickly - he can take a break for an hour or two and then try again. Maybe on another band. There is enough time.
I remind you once again what the organizer says in the invitation:
By all means, send the evaluator a journal—even if it's just three connections sent on a postcard.
So NSL at OQRPC on July 5th!
