Sovereign base territories of Akrotiri and Dekeleia (SBA) are British bases in Cyprus, which play a strategic role in the geopolitical dynamics of the Mediterranean. These territories are under the sovereignty of the United Kingdom, however, they have a special legal status and are managed by the British Ministry of Defence. SBAs provide important support for NATO military operations and ensure the protection of British interests in this area.
