The first Global Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Conference, GAREC-2005, was held in the Finnish city of Tampere on July 13-14, 2005.
Representatives from 17 countries and representatives of all three regions IARU they exchanged information about the role of radio amateurs in emergency communication.
