meteor scatter (MS) operation has recently been very popular with VHF HAM's. The boom happened with WSJT, but many stations work HSCW or SSB, especially during the peak of meteor showers. In just a few days we can expect a very good meteor shower - GEMINI (GEM).
They are also suitable for beginning stations that do not have top-of-the-line equipment, preferably after arranging a sked via the Internet, packet radio or otherwise. With a little patience, it is possible to find many stations even on random frequencies.
The swarm will be active from December 6th to 19th, with a predicted maximum on the night of Friday to Saturday December 13th and 14th. More accurate estimates will be published on the official World Cup website in the coming days.
Lots of nice ones QSO!
