Many of us still have working receivers at home, on which the manufacturer's labels say "Рига-103, Рижский радиозавод им. А. С. Попова (RRR), Радиотехника, Рига", or one of the Czech versions. Many of these receivers still have very decent characteristics and, wonder at the world, modern devices manufactured today by the method of consumer "consumable goods" do not even want to compare with their parameters. "Cheap and useless" has become a synonym for practically everything that the electronics market has to offer today.
Radio receivers from Riga…

Enterprise Radio engineering in the city of Riga, its history goes back to the year 1926, when he began to produce under the brand "AL" (Абрам Лейаовиц) about 40 different models of receivers. Receivers from companies such as Telefunken, Kramolin, DeTeWe, Lumophon and the like, whose models have become a model not only in connection, but also in appearance.
Over the years, other plants for the production of radio receivers were established in Riga, and the production of more or less successful models gradually grew. In the year 1933 it was the plant "А Апситиса и Ф. Жуковского", which at the beginning of its existence produced about 20 types of receivers.
When in the year 1951 was renamed to "А. С. Popova", závod používal ešte obe logá, a až po roku 1971, with the introduction of the official name of the plant "Рижский радиозавод им. А. С. Попова (RRR)", sa začalo trvalo používať druhé, známejšie logo s tromi písmenami "R".

Development and innovation
Over the years, the plants have of course updated their models according to the development of electronics in the world. In the range of products we can find not only tube gems such as Riga 10 – Радиоприемник 1 класс (1952–1958 г.), but also transistor receivers from a later period that also appeared on our market.
Many different types were imported to us, but they were always modified for our market. In some cases, it was detrimental - not only in terms of appearance, but also in wiring modifications.
Well-known models include, for example, receivers Riga 101, Riga 102, or perhaps one of the most famous – Rīga 103 (1967–1974, Transistor Radio Receiver – РПП-1).
Models Selena, which could only be obtained here with luck, are still sought-after devices for radio listeners - primarily due to the high-quality processing of the input circuits and the decent design of the intermediate frequency.
Almost all models produced by the plant from the year 1926 to the present can be found at:http://www.radiopagajiba.latbs.lv/RRR/rrrhome.htm,
where there are also diagrams of many receivers and other more detailed information.
