The world's largest radio amateur competition - CQ World Wide DX contest (CQWW) – is coming again. In 2025, thousands of operators from all over the world will participate in both the CW and SSB portions, and many teams have already announced their activities from exotic destinations. We present an overview of the most interesting ones DX expeditions and special stations, which should appear during the race on bands from 160 to 10 meters.

Africa and the Indian Ocean
3B9KW – Rodrigues Island (CQ Zone 39)
British operator M0CFW will present from the island of Rodrigues (AF-017), belonging to Mauritius. Station 3B9KW will be on the air from October 21 to 29, competing in the SOAB HP category. QSL through LoTW. Rodrigues is a small island in the Indian Ocean, about 600 km east of Mauritius, known for its beautiful beaches and coral reefs.
C5R and C5Y – Gambia (CQ zone 35)
The West African Gambia will have two active teams in the competition. Station C5R (F5RAV, YT3PL) will QRV from October 18 to November 7 on CW, SSB, FT8, FT4 and satellites. Second team C5Y (PC3M, PA3EYC et al.) is planning an activity on 23–29 October, also multimode. QSL manager is PH3T.
7Q1A - Malawi (Zone 37)
A strong lineup of 7Q7CT, 7Q6M, 7Q5MLV, 7Q7EB, 7Q7JN and more will be QRV from Lilongwe. The plan includes all the main bands and operation from October 18 to 24. QSL processed by 7Q7CT. Malawi, also known as the "land of the lake", is one of the attractive African DX destinations.
V55Y - Namibia (Zone 38)
DK2WH activates V55Y again, this time in the SO category. Namibia offers excellent conditions for DX operation - dry air, low noise and enough space for large antenna systems.
Caribbean and Central America
5K0UA – San Andrés & Providencia (Zone 07)
The strong international team of HK1T, HK1YL, K2BB and UU0JR will present from the Colombian island of San Andrés. Operation from 20 to 30 October covers 160-10m including FT8. QSL via Club Log OQRS.
8P5A - Barbados (Zone 08)
Klasika medzi contestovými stanicami – W2SC bude opäť reprezentovať Barbados ako 8P5A, tentoraz v SOAB HP kategórii. QSL zabezpečuje HA1AG.
V26B - Antigua & Barbuda (Zone 08)
The team from the USA (WT3Q, N3BNA, N3OC and others) will present themselves in the M/M category. Antigua is one of the most active Caribbean DX locations, with excellent conditions for the 10 meter band.
V47T - St Kitts & Nevis (Zone 08)
Známi contestmani N2NT, K5ZD a K4ZW plánujú štart v M/S kategórii. V47T zvyčajne patrí medzi najúspešnejšie karibské stanice.
PJ2/DH8BQA - Curacao (Zone 09)
DH8BQA will QRV Oct 24-Nov 6 from Curacao. Curacao (SA-099) is part of the former Netherlands Antilles and a popular destination for European operators.
PJ4K - Bonaire (Zone 09)
N6KT (known from the P40W and 9Y4 expeditions) will present himself from Bonaire this time. Operation 17.–26. October.
PJ6Y – Saba & St Eustatius (Zone 08)
W6IZT and the young members of the YOTA team will QRV from Saba, 80-6m including FT8.
TO4K - St Barthelemy (Zone 08)
A British team led by M5RIC (G3NKC, G4CLA and others) will start operations as TO4K.
VP2VRX - British Virgin Islands (Zone 08)
The foursome of N4XTT, W3MLJ, KC1KUG and K4BEN will broadcast on the 23rd-28th. October, 160-6m, CW, SSB, FT8.
TO2M - Martinique (Zone 08)
VE3LA will appear as TO2M, aiming for a strong placement in the SOAB HP category.
HP1Z and HP3/VE3DZ - Panama (Zone 07)
Home team HP1Z operates in the M/S category, while VE3DZ will broadcast from Panama as HP3/VE3DZ in the SOAB category.
TI1L and TI5/VA3RA - Costa Rica (Zone 07)
TI1FAF will participate in the SOSB 15M category, VE3IKV under the TI5/VA3RA mark will be QRV on 10 and 15 m.
ZF2AA - Cayman Islands (Zone 08)
VE9AA is new as ZF2AA – its goal is a strong participation in the SO category.
Europe and the North
CQ9A - Madeira (Zone 33)
An impressive team of EW6W, EU1A, N6MJ, KL9A and others are preparing a multi-station participation from Madeira. QSL information at QRZ.com.
IH9/OK1M - Pantelleria (African Italy, Zone 33)
OK1M will be presented in the SOSB 10M category. The island of Pantelleria lies between Sicily and Tunisia.
IP0A and IQ0ID - Sardinia (Zone 15)
OM2FY will QRV as IP0A (SOAB HP) while a group of IS0EIR and colleagues launch IQ0ID from San Pietro Island (IOTA EU-165).
Z68MU - Kosovo (Zone 15)
The Slovenian team S58MU and S52SK will appear on the bands October 23 - November 3.
MM1U and GM5DX - Scotland (Zone 14)
Two strong Scottish stations: GM5DX (MM0NDX, MM0OKG) in the M/2 category and MM1U (MM0GOR, M0UTD) in the M/S.
MU0PLX/m - Guernsey (Zone 14)
M0PLX announced mobile participation in the SOAB LP category.
Asia and the Pacific
4L6AM - Georgia (Zone 21)
4L6AM will compete in the SOSB 20M high performance category.
EX9A - Kyrgyzstan (Zone 17)
Tím contest Club Kyrgyzstan (EX2M, RT2O, HB9DUR a ďalší) oznámil štart v M/S kategórii.
E2A - Thailand (Zone 26)
Traditional station E2A will appear in the M/S category, with participants HS4RAY, E21EIC, DL3DXX and LA7JO.
JD1BQP – Ogasawara (Zone 27)
JP1IHD will QRV from Chichijima Island from October 19th to November 2nd.
V85RH – Brunei (Zone 28)
JO1RUR plans to perform as V85RH in the SOAB HP category.
FW5K - Wallis & Futuna (Zone 32)
US team K6VHF, KA6BIM and colleagues activate remote Pacific island of Wallis, 160–6 m, incl. RTTY and FT8.
KH6J - Hawaii (Zone 31)
Station KH6J will compete from legendary QTH KH6YY, with operators like N6TJ, KH7U and NH7T.
KH0/KC0W - Mariana Islands (Zone 27)
KC0W will appear as a solo operator in the CW portion.
South America
CV6T - Uruguay (Zone 13)
CX6TU will compete in the SOAB HP category, QSL via EA7FTR.
OA4O - Peru (Zone 10)
N5ZO appears as OA4O, adding the 40th CQ zone to his collection.
