CubeSaty – bad luck continues :-(
Today in 11:10 Liftoff sounded CET! and Taurus XL went into orbit. Everything went smoothly to 6 minutes after the start , when Launch Director Omar Baez announced the unexpected event, without further information, what actually happened. A moment later the message came, that the aerodynamic cover of the last stage warhead did not separate – it is therefore not possible to separate CubeSats from the launch vehicle.
Further information will be known only after a detailed evaluation of the data at the press conference approx 2,5 hours after the start. Maybe there is a faint hope, that the separation of the cover did occur after all, but that will be revealed very soon. So the bad luck in the AmSat and CubeSat program continues… 🙁
