On Sunday, May 12, the largest this year was recorded X1.7 class solar flare. This suggests that we are past the peak of solar activity, as an X5.4 class eruption was recorded in 2012 and an X6.9 in 2011. A solar eruption of this kind will affect the propagation conditions on both the KV and the lower ones VHF bands. Keep a close eye especially on non-traditional spreading opportunities, e.g. 6m/4m/2m.
