Autumn meetings of radio amateurs in Drozdovo are among the traditional events of the Slovak radio amateur community. The Old Timers Club SARA archive documents their history at least since the year 2009, when the fifth meeting took place on October 10. Approximately 120 radio amateurs and their family members attended the event. The program also included a radio amateur market, a joint meeting and prevádzka z Drozdova.

Tradition of meetings in Drozdovo
Meetings continued in subsequent years. In 2010, the sixth meeting took place, in 2011 the seventh and in 2012 the eighth. Archive reports repeatedly mention the participation of radio amateurs from all over Slovakia and abroad and emphasize the informal atmosphere of the event. The venue remained the mountain pension in Drozdovo.
In 2013, the ninth edition took place and in 2014 the tenth. The autumn meeting continued in 2015, when the eleventh autumn edition was held in Drozdovo. In 2016, the twelfth followed, and in 2017 the thirteenth edition. The program traditionally included a meeting of radio amateurs, a market, discussions, and depending on the specific edition, also other activities.
Drozdovo near Nová Baňa
The meeting place remains the same after years – the mountain pension Drozdovo near Nová Baňa. Access is from Nová Baňa towards Veľká Lehota, and after turning off the main road, the pension is approximately two kilometers away. Access is also possible from the direction of Zlaté Moravce or Topoľčany. In the past, it was possible to use accommodation directly in the pension, and parking was also available.

25th meeting of radio amateurs in Drozdovo
On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the 25th amateur radio meeting will take place at the Drozdovo guesthouse near Nová Baňa. The meeting is scheduled to start at 8:00 AM. Jozef OM5JG and Bohuš OM2AT invite you to the meeting.
Autumn Drozdovo continues the tradition of an event that is primarily based on the personal meeting of amateur radio operators. For participants, it is an opportunity to meet acquaintances from the band, discuss amateur radio technology and operation, exchange experiences, and look at the material offered at the fair. The current announcement about the 25th meeting confirms the date of November 7, 2026, and the start at 8:00 AM.
