The next year of this race, which takes place every year on Easter Monday, is approaching. When we introduced the race to the world stage eight years ago, it was a great success abroad due to its interesting conditions, day and time. There were even proposals to hold it twice a year, in spring and fall. Despite the wide promotion in the Slovak radio amateur press and in the magazine Rádiožurnál, many Slovak radio amateurs still do not know about it, as I found out during personal interviews. It is therefore not surprising that foreign participants complain in the newspapers that there are few Slovak stations in the race. The conditions of the race are new in that the race also counts connections with stations that do not directly participate in the race. So when we can't hear the stations directly involved in the race at the moment, we also establish connections with other stations. This way we get points for the connection and a multiplier for the prefix and maybe another multiplier in the form of a locator if the opposing station knows it. In such connections, I always tell them that I am going to the Spring Sprint race and thank them for their contribution to my result. It is a quiet race without chasing and mutual interference, as most power categories are low-wattage. By participating in the race, we prove that even with low power and with simple equipment, many interesting connections can be made without much mutual interference, that we represent our amateur radio organization SARA, our Slovak nation, and especially ourselves, when we achieve good results in low-power operation with our efforts, skill and tenacity QRP.
Up until now we have had the bands for this Easter Monday race to ourselves. However, several other race organizers discovered this day for the race and we lose one of the advantages we had until now. It's a shame that we haven't used it to our advantage yet.
Until 2005, diplomas for placing in the race were A4 in size. Now we print A5 size diplomas and every year the diploma will have a photo of the capital of the state or country where the participants of this race come from. In 2006 it was Bratislava. in 2007 Prague.
