Everything that is written next is made up. The resemblance to persons and companies is purely coincidental, and associating them with real-life institutions is pure and reprehensible malice... Years ago, I got a new radio that featured a lime-green glowing display, it played nicely, and as long as I went out into the field, I even managed to win a stage here and there.
However, over time, a decrease in performance began to show, but I was satisfied with the listening. That's when I arranged with a friend who is a professional repairman and also a radio amateur and has repaired other radios for me that were beyond repair for others, that he would look into it. He took a look, but immediately admitted that he did not have adequate service tools to be able to measure the boards that are placed in the center of the radio during the broadcast. After the agreement, on his own initiative, he arranged for the radio to be transported to the company's service center, which, after delays and emergencies, carried out the repair.
After the repair, the performance increased, but instabilities began to appear in the reception. S meter whenever he jumped "around the corner", or the reception dropped out. Fortunately, there are more company services, so after further negotiation, the radio traveled again for repair. I openly informed the service about all the previous events, I asked for a detailed inspection and a statement as to whether the repair could be carried out. I also asked them to equip the radio with two telegraph filters.
This happened on 3/29/2010. Since then, everything has been going "normally" - with the "it will be done" system. Later when I inquired how the repair was going, I learned that they had to order new flat patch cords. "The contacts are peeling on the old ones, but be patient, it will be very soon". This "it will be done" lasted until "Tatry", where the representative of the company promised me that the radio would definitely be ready by the end of the year, and as "painful" for the delays, they would take it into account when determining the price for the repair.
The company did not respond even in January 2011, so I turned to their European superiors. Since then, the situation has become radically dynamic. From the communication between the company and the authorities, I learned that the radio was in the hands of an unauthorized person, melted, oxidized, devastated, and therefore beyond repair.
A service protocol (1.4.2010) and an eight-page Technical Repair Report illustrated with pictures of the damage after the flood (15.2.2011) were drawn up on the state of the radio. In the protocol from April 2010, there is not a word about heating the radio. The condition when received is marked as used. It is also interesting that all the connectors on the rear tent bear traces of the flood except for one that looks like it was made only yesterday. It belongs to the "OPTIONS" device.
After all this, the company informed me that they will return the radio to me, remove the filters and they will not charge anything for their repair, but they have incurred costs and will therefore charge them. On April 5th, 2011, the box with the cash on delivery radio arrived 140E.
I have a radio at home that cannot be used and I don't know if there is anyone who would still try to fix it. Maybe I will at least offer "OPTIONS" to someone.
