Pásmo 10 metrov (28 MHz) je pre poslucháčov (SWL ) and broadcast radio amateurs are always exceptional. Its magical character lies in its strong dependence on the solar cycle. While in solar minimum years the band is almost dead and silent, in maximum years, such as 2011, it opens up for dramatic intercontinental connections that often surprise with their strength and purity.

Second place went to Richard Frank (DH2URF) from Germany, closely followed by Vladimir Ignatov (R3A-847) from Russia. The participation of a station from India (VU2-002SWL) in the top five only confirmed that the band was opened truly globally.

The phonics category (SSB) brought a completely different story and dominance from North America. Bill Smith (W1-7897) from the United States reigned supreme here. His score of 43,038 points was the result of 934 basis points and a strong number of 135 multipliers, proving that the transatlantic links were in full force. Second place went to Allen Willie (VO1-001-SWL) from Canada (Newfoundland), confirming the strength of the North American stations. Third place went to Sjuk Veenstra (NL6904) from the Netherlands.
2011 has made it clear that the 10m band is a veritable playground for DX at the peak of the cycle, and the art of patient listening still has its dedicated masters.
