10 points of HAM Spirit as promoted by Ing. Vladimír Srdínko, ex OK1SV

1. A radio amateur must not be selfish... He does not use his device only for his own pleasure and does not spoil the joy of the connection for other radio amateurs either intentionally or unintentionally - he patiently waits with the call of the opposite station until the other station completes the connection. He doesn't call out of his head when he wouldn't hear the opposite station at all. It only uses the power required for the given connection, it does not make local and close connections in the sections of the band reserved for DX-operation. It is always debugged if requested by another station that is interrupting its connection, etc. He is aware of his obligations to others and never betrays the trust given to him by granting him the right to broadcast.
2. The radio amateur always and under all circumstances complies with the permit conditions and all other legal obligations. It is a matter of his honor!
3. The radio amateur is progressive, keeps his equipment at the best technical level and continuously improves it according to the latest scientific knowledge in order to make the best use of radio amateur bands. His equipment always has not only a technical level, but also the best possible appearance.

5. A radio amateur respects various types of radio amateur activity, does not elevate his own activity above others, does not look down on vkv, na technickú činnosť, ani na DX-prácu, má snahu pre získanie QSL – ticket, diploma, etc. Each type of our activity has its justification and its supporters, who respect each other.
6. A radio amateur is a balanced person. Amateur radio is his hobby, but he must not allow himself to neglect his responsibilities towards his family, at work, at school and towards the public in general.

8. A radio amateur also helps science. It provides exact results of its observations at various world events, which is an invaluable aid to the worldwide radio amateur network of stations. Of course, he makes the particularly good results of his technical work available to the technical public.
9. The radio amateur is honest and open. This is also the meaning of radio amateur connections, races and competition. He never helps himself with swindles and fraud!
10. A radio amateur spreads friendship between the peoples of the whole world in the most beautiful sense of the word.
I believe that most of our radio amateurs follow those rules, even if exceptions are found everywhere...
