1. A radio amateur must not be selfish... He does not use his equipment only for his own pleasure and does not spoil the joy of the connection for other radio amateurs, either intentionally or unintentionally - he waits patiently before calling the opposing station until the other station has completed the connection. He does not call recklessly when he cannot hear the opposing station at all. He uses only the power required for the given connection, and does not make local and close connections in the band sections reserved for DX operations. He always tunes out if asked to do so by another station that is disrupting its connection, etc. He is aware of his duties towards others and never betrays the trust given to him by granting him the right to broadcast.
2. A radio amateur always and under all circumstances complies with the licensing conditions and all other legal obligations. It is a matter of his honor!

3. A radio amateur is progressive, keeps his equipment at the best technical level and continuously improves it according to the latest scientific knowledge in order to make the best use of the radio amateur bands. His equipment always has not only the technical level, but also the best appearance.

4. A radio amateur helps others, every other radio amateur is his friend. He works slowly and patiently with beginners and advises them on the operation and construction of their equipment. Likewise, his relationship with his neighbors who own radio and television receivers is always such as the amateur spirit dictates.

5. A radio amateur respects various types of amateur radio activities, does not elevate his own activity above others, does not look down on VHF, na technickú činnosť, ani na DX-prácu, má snahu pre získanie QSL – a ticket, a diploma, etc. Each type of our activity has its justification and its supporters, who respect each other.

6. A radio amateur is a balanced person. Amateur radio is his hobby, but he cannot afford to neglect his duties to his family, his profession, his school, and to the public in general for it.

7. A radio amateur is also selfless and will of course help where his knowledge is needed, whether at work or in an emergency, disaster, etc. He never takes a promotion for it, it is his obvious duty.

8. Amateur radio also helps science. He supplies exact results of his observations at various world events, which is an invaluable help to the worldwide amateur radio network of stations. He of course makes particularly good results of his technical work available to the technical public.

9. A radio amateur is honest and open. This is also the meaning of radio amateur connections, races and competitions. He never resorts to scams and fraud!

10. Amateur radio spreads friendship between peoples of the world in the most beautiful sense of the word.

I believe that most of our radio amateurs follow these rules, although exceptions can be found everywhere...
