Both parts enjoy great popularity every year CQ WPX Contestu: SSB 24-25 March and CW 26-27 May 2012. Starts at 00.00GMT and ends at 23.59GMT, the whole race therefore lasts 48 hours, with the exception of the individual category - Single OP, where it is possible to be in the zones for a maximum of 36 hours.
Connections are established with all stations. With one station it is possible to carry out on one band 1 QSO. It is raced in bands 1.8 to 28MHz (except WARC). Categories:
A. Single Operator category: Only one person (operator) can contribute to the total score during the duration of the race. Only one broadcast signal is allowed at any time. QSO alerting assistance of any kind moves the participant into the Single Operator Assisted category (see subsection B below).
(a) Single Operator High (all bands or one band): Jedna osoba vykonáva všetky prevádzkové a logovacie činnosti. QSO alerting asistencia nie je povolené. The total output power must not exceed 1500W.
(b) Single Operator Low (all bands or one band): Jedna osoba vykonáva všetky prevádzkové a logovacie činnosti. QSO alerting nie je povolené. The total output power must not exceed 100W.
(c) Single Operator QRP (all bands or one band): Jedna osoba vykonáva všetky prevádzkové a logovacie činnosti. QSO alerting nie je povolený. The total output power must not exceed 5W.
B. Single Operator Assisted Categories: Všetky prevádzkové a logovacie činnosti vykonáva jedna osoba (operátor). V každom okamžiku je povolený iba jeden vysielaný signál. Účastníci tejto kategórie môžu používať QSO alerting asistenciu.
(a) Single Operator ASSISTED High (all bands or one band): The total output power must not exceed 1500W.
(b) Single Operator ASSISTED Low (all bands or one band): The total output power must not exceed 100W.
C. Single Operator additional categories: Participants of the Single Operator category can also submit your journal to one from the categories below so that in the header Cabrillo of the journal will add the CATEGORY-OVERLAY line.
(a) tribander/Single Element (TB-WIRES): During the race, the participant may use only one (1) tribander (any type, one common feeder from the transmitter to the antenna) for the bands of 10, 15 and 20 meters, and single-element antennas for the bands of 40, 80 and 160 meters.
(b) Rookie (ROOKIE): A participant can enter this category if he has held a radio amateur license for no more than 3 years at the time of the competition. In the SOAPBOX field, indicate the date of obtaining the first license.
D. Multi-Operator categories (only all bands, high power): Several people can contribute to the station's total score during the race. The category is determined based on the number of transmitted signals. The total output power of each transmitted signal must not exceed 1500W.
(a) Single-Transmitter (MULTI-ONE): Only one broadcast signal is allowed at any time. A maximum of ten (10) band changes are allowed within each hour (minutes 00 to 59). For example, changing the band from 20m to 40m and back to 20m represents two band changes. One connection numbering sequence is used for the entire log.
(b) Two-Transmitter (MULTI-TWO): A maximum of two broadcast signals on different bands are allowed at any given time. Each transmitter can establish connections with any stations. One connection can be made with each station on each band, regardless of the transmitter used. For each connection, the log must contain the designation of the transmitter that was used to establish it (stĺpec 81 v Cabrillo QSO šablóne pre CQ contesty).
(c) Multi-Transmitter (MULTI-UNLIMITED): The number of transmitters is not limited, but only one broadcast signal (and run station) is allowed on each band at any time. A separate connection numbering sequence is used for each band.

Contest code: RS(T) + QSO sequence number from 001.
Stations of the Multi category number connections from 001 separately on each band.
Scoring:
A QSO with a station from another continent in the 28/21/14 MHz bands counts for 3 points and in the 7/3.5/1.8 MHz bands for 6 points
A QSO with a station on one's own continent but not one's own country in the 28/21/14 MHz bands is counted for 1 point and in the 7/3.5/1.8 MHz bands for 2 points
QSO within own DXCC regardless of band 1 point
Multipliers: the multiplier is valid prefixes 1x per race, regardless of the band and the number of connections with stations with the given prefix. A valid prefix is a combination of letters and numbers in the station tag expressing the geographic location of the station. For example: DL1, P40, P41, OE25, etc. Designations such as maritime mobile, mobile, /A, /E, /J, /P are not counted as prefixes.
Result: in the case of a single OP of all bands, it is given by the sum of points for connections from all bands times the number of different prefixes once per race, regardless of the band (e.g. if the station establishes a connection with DL5 on three bands, only one multiplier is counted).
In the category single OP one band, the result is given by the sum of points for connections from the given band times the number of different prefixes.
In the Multi categories, the result is calculated in the same way as in the single OP category of all bands.
