The goal of the competition

Hlavným cieľom CQ WW RTTY je umožniť rádioamatérom z celého sveta nadviazať čo najviac spojení s čo najväčším počtom CQ zón, krajín a pre americké stanice aj štátov (QTH), pričom súťažiaci sú povzbudzovaní k práci na všetkých piatich povolených pásmach.

Bands and fashions

In CQ WW RTTY 2025 they are enabled päť pásiem: 3,5 MHz, 7 MHz, 14 MHz, 21 MHz a 28 MHz. Použitie pásmov mimo definovaných (napr. 160, 50 MHz) je vylúčené v rámci tohto contestu. Operátori by mali rešpektovať existujúce bandplány a zásady správania sa v pásmach.

Mód, ktorý sa používa vo všetkých spojeniach, je RTTY with a speed of 45.45 baud and 170 Hz shift (ITA2) - other modifications and modes are not allowed.

Exchanged code

Pri každom QSO musí byť vymenený RST report (napr. 599) plus CQ zóna station. For example "599 05". Additionally, shipping is required for stations in the continental US and Canada QTH identifikátora (napr. štátu), napr. „599 05 MI“.

Scoring and multipliers

The final score is calculated as:

(sum of points from QSO) × (sum of multipliers)

QSO body are allocated according to the relative position of the contact stations:

• Connections between stations on different continents: 3 body
• Between stations on the same continent but in different countries: 2 body
• Between stations in the same country: 1 bod

Násobiče are calculated on each band separately and include three types:

1. Zone multipliers – each different CQ zone you have a connection with on that band.
2. Country multipliers – every different country contacted on a given band according to the list DXCC a WAE pravidiel.
3. W/VE QTH multipliers – for American and Canadian stations (states / call areas). The US and Canada alone are covered in a special mode: each US state and each Canadian territory is counted as a multiplier.

Important note: Alaska (KL7) and Hawaii (KH6) do not count as state multipliers, but as a DXCC entity only within country multipliers.

CQ WW RTTY 2025 categories

CQ WW RTTY 2025 offers several categories so that every radio amateur can find a suitable level of competition:

Overlay kategórie (as additional categories within Single Operator):

• Classic – only one radio is used and there is a limit of a maximum of 24 hours of operation in a 48-hour window (there must be at least a 60-minute break).
• Rookie – the operator has a license less than 3 years before the day of the competition.
• Youth - age 25 years or less on the day of the start of the competition.

Multi-Operator – viacerí operátori môžu pracovať spolu na jednom contestovom stanovišti, s rôznymi špecifikami:

• Multi-Single – only one broadcast signal at a time, with the possibility of a second signal on a different band exclusively for multipliers.
• Multi-Two – up to two broadcast signals at the same time, but on two different bands.
• Multi-Multi – all bands can be activated, with one signal per band.
• Multi-Distributed – several physically different stations in different locations, but within the same DXCC entity and CQ zone.

All multi-categories use all bands (All-band) and are regulated in detail by limitations of band-changes and the number of signals.

Rules and restrictions

• Each participant must comply with the permit výkonový limit pre svoju kategóriu na každom pásme súčasne.
• Selfspotting (ie sending your own announcements to clusters) or requesting spotting through other means during the competition is not allowed.
• Remote station is allowed only if all devices (transmitters, receivers, antennas) are located within one site (within a 500-meter circle). Off-site remote receivers are not allowed.

Logovanie a odosielanie logov CQ WW RTTY 2025

• Súťažné logy sa prijímajú výlučne elektronicky, vo formáte Cabrillo.
• Každý QSO v logu musí mať dátum, čas (UTC), pásmo (alebo frekvenciu), volaciu značku protistanice, vyslaný a prijatý kód.
• Single-band entrants must include all QSOs they made during the contest, including those outside their chosen band - but only QSOs on the declared band will be scored.
• Log musí byť odoslaný within 5 days after the end of the competition, najneskôr do 23:59 UTC 4. októbra 2025.
• Logy neskoro odoslané môžu byť zverejnené, ale no reward or competition result will be assigned to them.
• Po prijatí logu bude účastníkovi zaslané potvrdenie e-mailom.

Evaluation and club competition

• Kontrolu a hodnotenie logov zabezpečuje výbor CQ WW RTTY DX contest. Prijíma sa kombinácia automatizovaných nástrojov a manuálneho posúdenia.
• Duplicate QSOs are automatically removed without penalty.
• QSOs with an incorrect received code are deleted without penalty.
• Invalid or inconsistently entered callsigns (bust or NIL) are penalized with double QSO points.
• The competition is also klubová súťaž, kde sa súčet skóre jednotlivcov od členov klubu počíta ako skóre klubu.
  • For USA clubs, members must be within 250 miles of the club center.
  • For DX clubs, members must be in the same DXCC entity or within a radius of 400 km from the center of the club.
  • Aby klub bol zaznamenaný, musí byť prijatých aspoň štyri logy.

Tips and strategies for 2025

For success in CQ WW RTTY 2025, it is important to have not only technical equipment, but also good tactics:

• Maximalizujte násobiče – they are counted separately on each band, so try to contact CQ zones, countries and in the US states that you don't have yet.
• Vyrovnané pokrytie pásiem – if you drop a band (e.g. 3.5 MHz), you lose opportunities for new multipliers.

• Vyhýbajte sa selfspotingu – build a reputation for clean operations.
• Kontrola správnosti v logu – carefully check for duplicate, bust or NIL records.
• Zaznamenávajte audio (podľa kategórie) – if you are in the top position, the audio recording can decide the result.
• Plan time breaks in the Classic category a striehnite na najproduktívnejšie hodiny.
• Participate in multi categories, ak máte tím a kapacitu – viacerí operátori môžu veľa získať pri koordinácii pásiem.

CQ WW RTTY 2025 je výzvou pre každého rádioamatéra milujúceho Digital fashions: síl, stratégie, anténne ladenie a trpezlivosti.
